Flowing Into Spring
For a lot of us, this is the time of year when we clean up. That could literally mean spring cleaning an area of our home or exploring Saucha (The Yamas and Niyamas) that invites us to purify our body, our thoughts, and our words. For some, this time of year naturally calls us to take a look at our overall well-being. I like to think of it as a time to pause and re-evaluate my priorities and get inspired about possibilities for the future. For some of my clients, this involves taking a pulse on where they are professionally. With the great resignation well underway, what does your career well-being look like? Do you look forward to your job most days? Whether you are a student, a parent, a volunteer, or have a more traditional job, if you aren’t regularly doing something you find fulfilling or rewarding you’re more likely to experience burnout.
The 2021 Women in the Workplace study confirmed that one in three women considered leaving or downshifting their career in 2021 when they worked for organizations and companies that didn’t offer supportive cultures. So what does this mean for supervisors and employees? Hopefully, a call to elevate well-being. This could mean exploring a new role and identifying those transferable skills. For supervisors, what are those small tweaks we can make to support your workplace culture? If one of your talents is Developer (Clifton Strength), be especially mindful as you likely tend to be so invested in others that you neglect investing in your own growth.
